Megan Laurence
Megan Laurence is an entertainer rather than a performer. Whether it be standards, jazz, country, or contemporary, she enjoys interacting with people through music. Her vocal ability is rivalled only by the ease with which she relates to an audience.
Megan has been entertaining since the age of three, beginning with family and friends. As a child, she performed various roles in musical theatre. At the age of 16, she began performing regularly in night clubs in the Ottawa area and in upper New York state. Audiences were impressed with her voice and her performance ability, rare in someone that young.
Throughout her teens, Megan competed in various singing contests as a solo performer, winning many awards and titles. Among these are: Grand Champion Teen Vocalist on Homegrown Café, First place at Songfest, Overall Outstanding Vocal Student in the Montreal Music Festival (as well as six gold medals), First place in the Vocal Category and overall winner at Youth Talent Search at SuperEx.
